The Nese and adjacent Nicone Valleys are arguably the most prestigious in Umbria, with the latter bordering both regions of Umbria and Tuscany.  The area is home to  many important fortresses and castles that in medieval times were built and positioned strategically in order to communicate with  each other for defensive purposes.

This private property of 5 hectares sits within  a much larger private estate, on a promontory with commanding views.  The buildings were sympathetically and authentically  reconstructed using original materials from a pre-existing 13th century sanctuary associated with the then local church of San Bartolomeo Die Fossi.
